Hard skin (callouses) and corns tend to form either because your foot is sliding around in a shoe which has stretched out of shape causing your foot to slide around within it, or because you are wearing a shoe which is too small for you. They can be removed painlessly and we can advise you on the type of shoe which would be most suitable for you. Sometimes corns keep reappearing in the same place despite having been removed; this is because the foot is not functioning properly within the shoe. In this case we need to take a look at you walking, you might need an orthosis to wear in the shoe to improve your foot function.
